Ofulú Lorêrê: Dance Vocabulary

These three videos illustrate the possible ways in which Oxala or Obatala can be danced. The orisha or deity is called in these two ways.

The first one is Wemilere or Fest of Saints. In that video you will see a representation of how Obatala dances among the other orishas.

This video shows you how Obbatala is danced by a male dancer.

Oxalá or Obatalá

 Oxalá

Come all to see this prodigie of only one leg
Venham ver meus poderes e meus feitos!

Venham ver meu prodígio de um olho só
Come to see my prodigie of only one eye

Venham ver meus poderes e meus feitos!
