Oxalá or Obatalá
Oxalá
Oxalá is one of the oldest and most powerful orixás, being responsible for the
birth of human beings and the creation of the world. Its color is white
and in Brazil it carries a wooden scepter called opaxorô, which it can use to
divide the world in two, if needed.

Osvaldo Costa de Lacerda (March 23, 1927 – July 18, 2011) was a Brazilian composer and professor of music. Lacerda is known for a Brazilian Nationalist music style
that combines elements of Brazilian folk and popular music as well as
twentieth-century art music, as exemplified in the works of his teacher M. Camargo Guarnieri (1907–1997).
His compositional output includes works for orchestra, choir, smaller
vocal and instrumental ensembles, voice and piano, solo instrument and
piano, solo piano, and other solo instruments.
Ofulú Lorêrê is a composition authored by Osvaldo Lacerda in 1958. This melody was found by Camargo Guarnieri in 1937 in Bahia. Ofulú Lorêrê is a chant to Oxalá or Obatalá.
